Looks OK in the pick, the Taco is KO'd. Hey MTS- how did the roll happen? I was going for a little rip on a long fun dirt road, It was downhill, I was on the brakes backing it in and started the turn too early. I clipped the inside berm which caused the truck to spin sideways, clip a rut with the outside downhill rear wheel and BAM, flipped onto the roof. It pissed me off but it was just a matter of time.
I drove this truck hard! Now I have this gem.anybody want to go for a ride?? Happy Thaksgiving!! I am headed to Mammoth for some riding and cold fun!! Hello Marzocchi Tech Department, (I have requested help from Windwave twice with no avail).
Summary: XC 500 '07 TST2 fork (100mm). Need: XC 500 repair manual, Oil levels and weight Unsure: TST2 pressure, +Air pressure, special tools, travel I am having serious trouble getting them set up. I assume from the manual (with the basic info there is in there) that the left leg is a simple +air pressure (30-60psi) and the left is a TST2 with strict 30psi. The TST2 side is difficult to set up as it requires a valve adapter.
With the adapter fitted I can get it up to 30psi with some v.slow leakage - I think down to the adapter, I am then unsure if the air holds as i release the adapter (but im sure it does as I have pressed the valve afterwards and lots of air has come out). With the LH leg setup to 35psi the fork is only extending and showing 80cm of travel. If i continue to increase the LH leg the fork extends and only gets to 100cm at around 65psi. Can you confirm what travel I should get with the settings LH 35psi and RH TST2 30psi? And what the problem is if I should be getting 100mm at these pressures.
I noticed at one stage while releasing the pressure of the LH leg lots of the shock oil started to pour out of the valve - so this may be why im not getting the correct travel. However without a service manual or oil level charts I cannot amend this, I cannot for the life of Google find either - assuming they exist? One more thing; is a special tool needed to dismantle the top of the RH leg?
It looks like its got notches that require a tool for unscrewing. Thanks for the taking the time to read this.
Hi Zocchi Tech, I've recently built-up an 06 Foes FXR with some 08 55 ETA's. Love it, love the forks, they work great. Had some 05 All Mountain 2's on my Heckler and I liked the way they dropped all the way down to 1' travel. Because of this positive experience I initially thought the new 40mm ETA was a bit gimmicky, but now I love it. You definately notice 40mm whilst climbing and the remaining 4' offers a plush riding platform.
Unfortunately, on my very first ride I got down the bottom of my favourite run and noticed the red TST knob was missing, as well as the little gold TST Micro knob. I went back up the trail and found the red knob but there's no way I'm ever going to find the little gold one.
I live in Australia and the Marzocchi distributors have been less than forthcoming so far. Can you give me instructions as to where to source a new gold TST Micro knob? Thanks for you help. Hello, Marzocchi Tech Department, I have a 2009 Roco WC on a brand new bike here. All fasteners are torqued properly and I'm hearing and feeling a bit of a knock coming from what has to be the shock every time the piston quickly changes from rebounding to compressing. If cycled as fast as possible it sounds similar to a really loose headset, or badly worn eyelet bushings-neither of which are the case here. I tried my 2008 Roco WC on the frame, (with the 2009 reducers) which I can't give anything other than priase at the moment.

It made the noise also, to my surprise, but was about 75% quieter. It is my opinion that the 2008 shock was always like that, but was too faint to really catch my attention.
Somewhere in this thread a similar problem concerning an older TST model was brought up, and you pointed out that it may be the pistion guide ring moving, and that hopefully the issue would be addressed in the 2009 model year. Do you have any insight on this matter you could lend me, please?
Particularly wether or not damage will be done if I continue to ride the shock as is (if I can stand to, that is). Hi Zocchi Tech, I've recently built-up an 06 Foes FXR with some 08 55 ETA's. Love it, love the forks, they work great.

I recently installed a XC 500 ETA 2008 fork in my girlfriend's bike (the old fork was a REBA), and I have some quetions: - It has only 2 rides and I feel it sticky. I have adjusted the air to 0 PSI and ride only with coil.
How many time it needs for break-in? - My girlfriend weights 60kg, and I don´t know if the fork setup will be very hard for her weight (she wants a soft and smooth fork).
Can we change standard coil to a softer one if needed? Can the fork be ridden without coil (only air)? - What oil's density the fork use? I don´t know if it uses SAE 7.5 or a lighter one (poor fork setup guide).
I feel the fork a bit slow, with rebound full open. Rebound will be faster after break in or may I change oil to a lighter one? Thanks for your answers, and apologize for my bad english.

I’m trying to sort out my fork and am thoroughly frustrated and confused. I’ve already searched the site and haven’t had much luck and the manual is confusing, so bear with the longwinded description/request that follows but I want to give as much background as possible. I have an aftermarket 2007 XC 700 with 100 mm travel, TST2, ETA. It’s installed on a Ti hard tail weighing around 25 pounds. I weight between 190 and 200 pounds depending on gear.
My riding is XC and trails mostly single track no drops over 18” no jumping or hucking. Bought in winter of 07 and used for one season in 08 I have the preload set as per the manual to the max recommended pressure of 1bar/15psi.
The sag is ok, might be a little too much, I get full travel. I have the TST2 air set at 2bar/30psi as per the manual. Lockout, ETA and Rebound all seem to work fine looses a little air over time but no oil leak.
My problem is the fork bottoms out but not consistently, sometimes when coming off a small drop (down a curb) and sometimes when preloading before hopping an obstacle like a log or rock. It also tends to dive or compress through turns, especially when descending.
I’ve checked and rechecked the air pressure which is fine according to the manual. I also checked with the local shop about stiffer springs which apparently are not available for that fork. The Marz website lists oil volumes of 55ml in right leg and 160 ml in the left leg for my weight. Can someone tell me what the stock oil volumes are and if I need to add oil? Would using heavier oil (7.5 wt) improve compression dampening? The manual says the TST2 system uses a serviceable sealed cartridge but later states the cartridge should be replaced every 50 hours. Can the cartridge be serviced or must it be replaced.
Would increasing the air preload help? The manual gives a pretty narrow range of 0 to 1 bar regardless of rider weight but does not say if this is the maximum or just a recommended range. Are service instruction or shop manuals available I have rebuilt forks before and usually do all my own maintenance. Unless I’m overlooking something, which is entirely possible, I’m thinking I may have to switch to another fork which would be a shame as I quite like this one and couldn’t live without the ETA.
Thanks in advance. I hope i can get some help here, i've been searching forums and websites all evening with little luck. The fork is a drop-off comp that came with a 2004 kona coiler. I have 2 problems: 1. I lost one of the nuts on the bottom of the fork today while riding, so now i'm searching for a new one with little to no luck. Pic of the nut: where can i buy that little booger? Since all of the oil drained out of that side, i have decided to replace the seals and oil.
Now my trouble is finding the correct seals - i don't know what size stanchions i have. Which seals do i get - 30mm?
Any other words of wisdom or info i might need will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hey MTD, I just bought a 07 888RC2XVA (had a 06 66rc2x and loved it so i got this) and its a little bit stiffer then i would like it to be. Im about 165ish fully geared up and was wondering what weight of rider the stock springs are setup for? Right now i have the VA turned all the way counter clock wise, fully - for bottomout, 3 clicks from full - for compression. Seeing as im pretty much on the softest settings for all of them (from what i can tell) i was wondering if i could take a spring out of one of the legs and just turn up the compression and bottom out if its too soft? Am i dellusional or would this work? If so which leg would be best to take the spring out of. Thanks in advance, Josh.

This thread WAS only going to be for tech info not tech support. The best place to find me is on the 'Marzocchi support is here' thread. I can only manage and I only get mail notification on that thread. Other than that, this thread is blown to smitherens and I can't even fix it this late in the game. Sorry for the inconvienience. Happy Holidaze!
Cool Tom, I'll follow that thread, any help is good help and is much appreciated. It's a fair indication of how little Marzocchi support is really out there(besides MTD) when your threads get swamped like this. I hope i can get some help here, i've been searching forums and websites all evening with little luck.

Thanks in advance!i found out that i have 32mm stanchions, but i'm still searching for a replacement nut. Trying to contact marzocchi from their website but haven't had any response yet. Hello there, What I'm thinking about may not be possible but.
The All Mountain and AM series (2006) had both 130 and 150mm forks, is there a travel adjust spring kit that can raise a 130 to 150? Specifically my fork is a 130mm 2006 AM3 (coil/air on each side). I've seen many other spring and travel adjust kits for sale, but none specifically for this purpose. Thanks for your help/suggestions on where to find such a kit! -BruceThis is a travel specific fork. It is one of the few forks that were specific.
Tom, I have a 55 ETA and I would like the RC3 cart along with the New Silver/grey Lowers. Do you have an idea when these will be available and what is the turnaround time for you guys? Thanks, Mctigre As of today we do not have the RC3 cartridges in stock for retro fitting.
I was hoping we would have them by now. From what I hear we only 15 kits so they are going to get consumed quick. Cheers, MTD TOM P.S.
Q&A is to be done on the Marzocchi support is here thread, not this tech info thread. I don't get mail notification here and between this thread and the Support thread there are over 1000 posts.I actually don't have enough time in the day to do all of this. If I get a mail notification on the support thread I answer them pretty quickly. To all you jokers, remember to be nice, Santa is coming to town.
